Masonry and restoration work involves many variables, this makes it difficult to provide exact prices upfront. However, we’ve done our best to offer a scale for some of the different services we provide. We hope this helps give some insight into what your project might cost.

Lithomex Repairs

If you’ve read our Lithomex repairs page, hopefully you’ll have a better idea as to what’s involved when repairing a stone. Here are our approximate costs, including labor and materials:

  • Flat & Smooth Ashlar Units: £500 per m²
  • Repairs with Surface Finish: Generally between £600 and £800 per m²
  • Angled & Decorative Repairs: Can range from £300 to £1500 per unit

Additional Costs to Consider

  • Parking
  • Scaffolding (first floor & above )
  • Waste Removal
  • Toilet Hire (for work lasting more than 2 days)

Stone Replacement

The cost of a stone replacement will depend on these key factors:

  • The size of the stone
  • The surface finish, shape and design
  • The location on the building

Example Costs

  • A ground floor Window Sill: Between £750 and £1200
  • A fourth floor Window Sill: From £2550 to £3300 (including scaffold costs)
  • A ground floor Mullion: £2150 to £2650 (including small scaffold)
  • A forth floor Mullion: £ 3100 to £4500 (including scaffold)

  • Plant Hire
  • Parking
  • Waste Removal
  • Toilet Hire (for work lasting more than 2 days)

Re – Pointing

When it comes to re – pointing, the following factors can affect the total price:

  • The width and shape of joints between the stone
  • The current mortar type (harder cement mortars take longer to remove and are more costly to replace)
  • The location on the building
  • Whether pinner stones are required (usually for large joints over 40mm wide)

Estimated Costs

  • £80 to £175 per m²

  • Waste Removal
  • Toilet Hire (for work lasting more than 2 days)

PLEASE NOTE – These prices are estimates using plain, average sized stones as examples. As mentioned above, the size, design & location can all reduce or increase a quote dramatically.
